Popular Questions

Casual Clothing that is easy to walk in – go for something loose fitting.

Bring as little as possible -the essentials are a hat, sunglasses, water and sunscreen.

Most of the time footwear is removed at the start of sandboarding (unless the sand is extremely hot). Something that’s easy to take off is best – thongs, sandals or sneakers.

For our unlimited sandboarding tours you can stay as long as you like – for most people that’s around 1 to 1.5 hours.

4WD Tours to Tin City are 2 hours

It’s not far from our meeting point at Birubi Beach, Anna Bay, just a quick 5 minute ride on the 4WD Tours R Us bus and you’ll be on the dunes and ready to sandboard!

Rainy days happen – but your still on holidays right! 4WD Tours run rain, hail or shine – in fact sandboards go faster when its wet!

We do understand that not everyone likes to get wet, so if it is raining we are happy to change the day of your tour (if you give us a call in advance on 02 49 819 352)  but do not give a refund for rainy days.

Things happen, we get it – your on holiday time!

If you are booked on an unlimited sandboarding tour and need to change your day or time, just give us a call on 02 49819 352. We can’t guarantee that we will be able to accommodate you if you just turn up at a different time to your booking.

For all other tours – Tin City 4WD and Sunset Sandboarding, we will accommodate changes where possible, but please note that these tours are subject to minimum numbers and departure times vary with the tide and sunset. If you do need to change a booking, give us a call on 02 49819 352.

We do have a shade tent up on the dunes and in summer we try to have two to make sure there is some shade to rest in between sandboarding fun.

If you  want a bit extra shade and have a small collapsible beach tent you can take that up with you (please note that Large marquee cannot be catered for)

And of course – don’t forget to bring your hat.

Sandboarding shuttle buses run every half an hour from the car park at the end of James Patterson St, Anna Bay to our sandboarding hill and back.

When you’ve had enough fun on the dunes, just let the instructor know when your ready to come back!

Yes all children (from approx 2 years) will love it!

Young children are able to sit between a parents legs on the sand board and hang onto the parents knees to slide down, we recommend the use of the smaller part of the hill for young children and older children can venture up to any higher if they /you feel they can handle it.

Please talk to our instructors if your concerned on the day.
