While our tours take place within the naturally rugged environment of the Stockton Sand Dunes in the Worimi Conservation Lands, our team will always do their best to support individual needs wherever possible.

Tour Accessibility Information
Our tours operate within a natural sand dune environment, which can present some challenges depending on individual accessibility requirements. We encourage guests to review the information below and reach out to our friendly team with any questions before visiting.
Mobility & Physical Access
Our experience includes travel in custom-built 4WD vehicles across soft sand terrain and participation in sandboarding activities on large sand dunes.
Please note:
- Guests must be able to independently maintain a seated position while travelling in our 4WD buses
- Assistance can be provided when boarding and exiting vehicles where possible
- Sandboarding involves walking up and down soft sand dunes, which can be physically demanding
- Mobility aids may be difficult to use within the soft sand environment
- Limited seating and shaded rest areas are available on-site
We understand everybody’s abilities and comfort levels are different, and our team is happy to discuss individual circumstances prior to booking.
Hearing Accessibility
Before each tour, our guides provide verbal safety briefings, demonstrations, and sandboarding instructions.
Guests who have a hearing disability are encouraged to let us know in advance so we can provide additional support where possible, including:
- Written instructions
- One-on-one demonstrations
- Extra time for questions and clarification
Vision Accessibility
The sand dunes are a naturally uneven environment with shifting terrain that may be challenging for guests with low vision or blindness to navigate independently.
Guests are welcome to attend with a companion for additional support, and our team can provide:
- Verbal descriptions of the environment and experience
- Additional guidance during safety demonstrations
- Assistance where reasonably possible throughout the tour
Sensory Considerations
The dunes are a unique outdoor environment and can involve:
- Bright sunlight
- Wind and blowing sand
- Loud vehicle movement
- High-energy activity and excitement
For comfort, we recommend bringing:
- Sunglasses
- Hats
- Comfortable clothing
- Water
If you or someone in your group has sensory sensitivities, please let our team know in advance so we can do our best to support your experience.
Medical Considerations
Sandboarding can be a physically active experience involving balance, coordination, and walking on sand dunes.
Guests with medical conditions, injuries, respiratory concerns, or conditions affected by physical activity should consider whether the experience is suitable for them and seek medical advice if required.
We also recommend bringing any required medications, including:
- Asthma inhalers
- EpiPens
- Personal medications
Please note:
- Basic first aid is available on-site
- The closest hospital is: Tomaree Community Hospital – 2 Trevally Street, Nelson Bay
- The closest public defibrillator is located at the Birubi Beach Surf Life Saving Club, approximately 200 metres from our meeting point
Service Animals
Accredited service and working dogs are welcome on our tours.
Due to National Park regulations, therapy animals and pets are unfortunately not permitted within the tour area.
If you are travelling with a service animal, please contact us prior to your visit so we can discuss the most suitable arrangements.
